D’Artagnan can win if he reproduces his track

D’Artagnan has found Aboline a tricky customer in the past. Aboline’s initial speed has been the undoing of many of his opponents who have failed to pace with the progeny of Burden of Proof. Since Aboline is essaying the mile long trip, there is hope for others in the fray to catch up with him. If Aboline runs the way he has been running over shorter trips, no body can beat him.

However, D’Artagnan has been blazing the track and if he reproduces the same brilliance on the race track, he can pull it off. The mile long trip is always proved a difficult transition to make for the sprinting types. As such, D’Artagnan deserves support if only because of the extended trip and the blazing track work. Spearhead should be right there at the finish.

In the other races, I prefer Aquitaine, Dante’s Peak and Lady Duff. The last named shapes as the best betting proposition.

    What you said amounted to 'Lay against Aboline, and back Aquitaine, Dante's Peak and Lady Duff." The best advice once could get on a day like this.

    By the way do check out Rajgopal Nair's confident comments about certain runners today, and also Tiger's prediction that Sprint Star could upset. It was overall a great day for bloggers (except of course yours truly).

Rajan Bala, one of a rare kind

One of the finest cricketer writers that India has seen, Rajan Bala, passed away in Bangalore on Friday (October 9) after brief illness. He was truly an inspirational journalist for a generation of sports writers in the country in a career spanning about four decades. Villoo Poonawalla’s death leaves a void in racing

Villoo Poonawalla’s death last Tuesday has caused a big void in racing world. Being the wife of one of leading faces in Indian racing, Dr Cyrus Poonawalla, she was easily the most recognizable person in horse racing at Pune and Mumbai.
