Express Wish acquired by Mebajeona Stud Farm

Express Wish, winner of the 2008 Gr3 KBC Supreme Stakes has been acquired to stand at Mebajeona Stud Farm in Punjab.
Express Wish is by champion sire Danehill Dancer who has proved his credentials as a champion sire as well as a sire of sires. He is by the mighty Danehill. Danehill Dancer has produced early winners who have matured well as three and four-year olds in both hemispheres. In 2009 alone he sired Gr1 winners, Mastercraftsman (St. James Palace Stakes, Gr.1, Irish 2000 Guineas, Gr1), Again (2009 Boylesports.com Irish 1000 Guineas, Gr1), Alfred Noble (2009 Phoenix Stakes, Gr1) amongst a host of other Group winners. He is now establishing himself as a sire of sires with sons like Choisir (sire already of a Gr1 winner), Where Or When making their presence felt. With Jeremy getting good previews, Danehill Danceer’s position as a sire of sires is well assured. Danehill Dancer has already sired innumerable Gr 1 winners.
Express Wish, won three races from five to seven furlongs on good to soft ground and was rated 116 by Timeform in 2008 for his efforts on the track. Timeform described Express Wish as “good topped, attractive colt: and smart performer...” His Gr 3 win came over seven furlongs. Express Wish had beaten the likes of JJ The Jet Plane, Main Aim, Major Cadeaux, Premio Loco, Welsh Emperor, Duff, Captain Marvelous, Summit Surge etc. during his racing career.
An extremely fast horse himself, Express Wish hails from a top family that has produced some top class fast horses like College Chapel, King’s Chapel (and an exciting stallion now), noted sires Mummy’s Pet, Whistler etc.
Express Wish is a half brother to two stakes winners Desert Alchemy and Madid. His dam, a stakes placed mare herself, is half sister to the top class multiple Group winning Leap For Joy, who is now the dam of Gr3 winner Moon Indigo. She is also half sister to the dam of Champion sprinter and miler in New Zealand, King’s Chapel who has now started making his presence felt as a sire. The next dam was the dam of Champion Irish Sprinter College Chapel and was also the grand dam of the very smart Barrow Creek, Last Resort, Rebellion, and Trans Island.
Given his credentials as a well performed son of the top class Danehill Dancer, Express Wish would represent an exciting opportunity for breeders in India. He stands at Mebajeona Stud Farm in place of the promising Home Affairs who unfortunately died this year due to colic related problems.
Mebajeona Stud Farm has been revamping its operations over the past few years by laying an emphasis on quality stock. With more than half of their mares having been imported in the last three years, they can look forward to some exciting times ahead.
